video projections act as another element at an event, to add to the overall atmosphere and complement the music being played. there is not one definite way to vj and every vj artist works in a different fashion. a wide range of equipment; varying styles of visuals, from self-created to heavily sample based performances and arrangements of screens to suit each venue/space, keeps it all fresh and exciting.
dubassy's visuals are best experienced live at a club, event, or music festival. vjing using only self-created content, to leave the audience's brain swimming in video excitement. currently using two mac laptops with modul8 software on one, and adobe premiere with a wacom tablet and pen to allow video scratching on the other, the visuals are mixed tightly in sync following the beats and drum rhythms of the music.
from small deep and dirty 100 people basements, to 10 000 strong crowds at an outdoor festival; from a boat moored on the seine in paris, to a superclub in india, salvadore dali's former hangout, rachdangue in spain to the hotel bar of corbusier's famous housing estate in marseille, a converted prison in switzerland to the unbelievable 40 screen setup at urban artforms in austria, and a small hippy festival in deepest dorset to hot and wild mtv fashion parties in barcelona, dubassy vjs at a huge variety of events, always looking for new and interesting opportunities. he has played alongside a variety of world famous djs and live acts and is always on a musical journey mixing to drum and bass, beats, electronica, through to jazz, funk and hiphop.
